Spain Map - Spanish Coast

The sur point in Andalucia and Spain is Europa Point, and forms the Gibraltar headland. This is where the Spanish coast begins stretching from the straits of Gibraltar up to the cape of Trafalgar. Within the straits the most notable parts of the landscape are formed by Algeciras bay as well as by Marroqui (Moroccan) and Tarifa points.


The summers in Andalusia are very hot while the winters are short. The rainfall except in autumn is low, (less than 700mm).  The average temperatures vary between 16ºC and 18ºC and decrease at altitude.

Andalucía is the largest of Spain's 19  autonomous region.  It is made up of the 8 provinces of Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga, and Seville.

Is the southern most Spanish region, its coast extending opposite to the Moroccan coast.

The Sun Coast extends by almost all the Andalusian Mediterranean coast, from the Almeria Coast to Cadiz, being the one with greatest tourist concentration, due to its good beaches and their colorful cities. The main city of the zone is Malaga, few kilometres away of the most tourist cities of the zone: Marbella and Torremolinos, called "Costa del Sol"  - La Costa -.

The climate in the autonomous region of Andalusia is dominated by a Mediterranean climate.
